Like Skills for young professionals( Communication, Assertion, Negotiation, Cooperation, Trust)

I am now beginning to wonder where, when and how do young professionals entering the work world or just finishing up college get necessary life skills (communication, negotiation, dealing with oppression, assertion, trust, collaboration, cooperation) from. Interestingly some people call these the soft skills but I want to say these should be renamed  HARD skills because without them young professionals lives could find themselves in hot, hard, hellish waters.

All too often I see a CULTURE OF CONTENTION, where YP's seem to think it is useful to use contentious tactics. Well who is surprised when we the adults teach them well and then we complain that they are a mess. Well I think we created the problem so its time to strive for change.

So with this in mind comes the Young Professional's Village.

I am not sure what YP or ypv means. Also, does it make sense if participants choose to take parts of the course on specific days if they are not available for the entire course? is there a different price for different days or segments of the course.

      Hi Michael,
      Thank you for your comment.

YP mean young professionals and ypv is young professionals village. Just the silly acronyms that we apply because we are at times lazy to write whole words or phrases.

With regards to doing one day, we prefer that participants do the entire Village since it is a holistic systemic process where each day layers and adds to the other. Missing one day will entail missing out on a chunk of learning which affects the level of skills and knowledge gains so we don't encourage it. For example if you did only the assertion portion you will have missed out on the communication skills portion which is essential to learning how to be assertive so you will have not gained truly.

      Hope this helps!

      In Peace,

      DMC
